How to draw Mind Map diagram?

  1. Place the central main idea or controlling point in the center of your page.
  2. Brainstorm all the things related to the main idea you already know
  3. Organize your ideas and information by making it accessible on a single page. It may be easier to orient your mind map in landscape, which is easier for drawing purposes.
  4. Start with the central main idea, from that work outward in all directions to create a growing diagram composed of keywords, phrases, concepts, facts and figures.
  5. Use lines, arrows, speech bubbles, branches and different colors as ways of showing the connection between the central main idea and derived ideas which stem from that focus.
  6. Leave some space on your page, so that you can continue to add to your diagram over a period of time. If A4 sized paper feels too small, you may like to use A3.
