Christmas Recipe
Ingredients
1 egg
1 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups flour
Procedures
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla, baking powder and salt and stir until mixed. Add flour, one cup at a time, and mix well after each addition.
Divide the dough into thirds and roll on a piece of parchment paper until it is about 1/4 inch thick. It is not necessary to flour the parchment paper, but you may need to lightly flour the rolling pin to prevent it from sticking.
Slide the parchment paper onto the baking sheet and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes to facilitate cutting. Cut out the desired shape directly on the baking sheet, then remove the excess dough and roll it out again.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes. The biscuits will remain golden but will be frozen. Cool completely as needed before shaping and decorating.
