Mark Twain
(November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910)
Formerly known as Samuel Langhorne Clemens, he was an American humorist, novelist, author and famous orator.
Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835, to a poor family of lawyers in the rural settlement of Hannibal, Florida, USA. He was the sixth child in a family of seven children. Only three of his siblings survived childhood. When Twain was four years old, the family moved to a Mississippi River port city in Hannibal, Missouri, which became the inspiration for the city of St. Petersburg in his later books, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Most of Mark Twain's early works were light-hearted and humorous poetic prose that evolved into descriptions of human vanity, hypocrisy and cruelty. His mid-career works, primarily Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, combine rich humor, solid narrative and critical reflection on society. Twain excelled in the use of colloquial expression, and he helped create and promote a uniquely American literary genre based on the development of the American spirit and language.
Mark Twain made a lot of money by publishing his works, but he wasted most of it on inappropriate investments, most of which were new inventions.

Because Mark Twain used different pen names and many of his works were published in newspapers, while most of his talks and lectures were not recorded, it is difficult to categorize all of his works. Until now, researchers have continued to search for his works.

Through the words, "Sing like no one is listening, love like you have never been hurt, dance like no one is watching, and live like you are in heaven on earth," we can learn that we must be ourselves. Do not be influenced by others, then we will live as if we were in heaven.
Sing like no one is listening, dance like no one is watching, so that we don't need to care whether others like our performance or not, we do it just because we want to. We shouldn't do things because others ask us to, so that we can easily hate them. Only when we are willing to do these things will we put effort into them and become better at them.
Also, love like you've never been hurt before. Not everyone meets the right person once they have fallen far enough. If we get hurt by someone and then are afraid to love someone else, we don't stand a chance of finding the right person for you. As mentioned above, we love someone because we want to, and that shouldn't be influenced by others.
If we can be ourselves and follow our heart instead of influencing others, even though we are still on earth, we just live like we are in heaven.

Even we all know that we need to be ourselves, it is not easy for us to do so. Here are some tips helping you to be yourselves and have a happier life:
Don't care what others think - This doesn't mean we have to ignore all other people's advice or opinions, but we don't need to constantly wonder how other people feel. Adjust yourself and choose to accept their opinions.
Know yourself - know what you like, what you want to be and what your talents are. Knowing more about our talents can improve our self-esteem and self-confidence, and then follow the path we prefer.
Reduce negative comments about yourself and forgive yourself - we face different failures and challenges in life and the person who cannot forgive across the failures is usually yourself. Try to put them down and learn from your failures to prepare for the next step in life.
