The secret of sunflower growth

In fact, the direction of a sunflower's growth does not change significantly with the position of the sun until the time it begins to germinate and bloom.

According to a study published in Science, the movement of sunflowers can be divided into three phases:

1. In its immature stage, the sunflower is like a restless child, running after the sun all day. When the plant begins to take shape and has distinct stems and leaves, the sunflower begins to rise and set with the sun.

2. Start each morning by turning east to west, then turn back to east again at night and continue to wait for the next sunrise.

3. When the sunflower is ripe and ready to bloom, the flower is fixed to the east and no longer runs after the sun.

The reason sunflowers are so busy is to increase their chances of successful pollination.
