A Jewish girl who died at the age of 15. She was a victim of the Holocaust in World War II. While hiding in Amsterdam in 1942, she took with her her diary, which was also her birthday present, and she continued to record their life during that period in the diary.

After her death in 1945, Otto Frank, Anne's father and the only surviving member of their family, received Anne's diary and had it published, fulfilling a wish to make Anne a writer.

Her diary recorded Anne Frank's personal experience of the German occupation of the Netherlands during World War II, from June 12, 1942 to August 1, 1944. The book was published after her death and became a famous testimony to the extermination of the Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II.
