Malaria Preventive Poster

World Malaria Day (WMD), 25 April, aims to raise awareness of the global effort to control and ultimately eradicate malaria. The international observance was first held in 2008, which was an event that had been observed since 2001 by African governments. It served as an occasion to assess progress toward goals aimed at controlling malaria and reducing its mortality in African countries. In 2007, it was proposed that Africa Malaria Day be changed to World Malaria Day to recognize the existence of malaria in countries worldwide and to bring greater awareness to the global fight against the disease.

Let's spread the awareness and show our support to the fight against this preventable, treatable disease. Here is a World Malaria Day poster you can share with others. You can customize the poster template by changing the photo, the color and font, and more. You can also edit the message by including any inspirational messages, quotes and wishes.

ZERO MALARIA STARTS WITH ME

Despite steady advancements in treatment and medication for malaria it still remains a killer disease in most African countries and also in India. According to the World Health Organisation’s recent World Malaria Report no important gains were made in reducing malaria cases from 2015 to 2017. The estimated number of malaria deaths in 2017 were 435000 that remained the same mostly over the last year.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

REMOVESTAGNANT WATER

Make sure there is no stagnant water nearby to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. You can also use antimalarial medicines to stay protected from malaria. Malaria can be prevented by taking chemoprophylaxis which can suppress the blood stage of malaria infections.

USAGE OF MOSQUITO NET

Using a mosquito net will also protect you from the risk of malaria. On the other hand Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) with insecticides is also a powerful way to rapidly reduce malaria transmission. Indoor spraying is a very effective way to protect the population for the entire malaria season.
