The Asian love affair with Burgundy actually began in Japan. In the 1990s, Japanese wine lovers and restaurants began to embrace and love Burgundy. Why are more and more people choosing Burgundy? "Said Simon Tam, senior wine director for Christie's Asia. "People have really moved away from Bordeaux to Burgundy, which is red and white," he says.
