Continuous Improvement with the Kaizen Techniques
Kaizen aims to achieve the goal of QCD (quality, cost and delivery time) by standardization, 5S and elimination of Muda (waste).
What is 5S Framework?
The 5S quality framework is made up of five Japanese words that start with the letter "S" that are used to build a workspace that is friendly to visual control and lean manufacturing. The 5S pillars are easy to understand and put into practice:
Seiri (Sort) - helps a workplace remove items that are no longer needed
Seiton (Straighten, Set) - organize the items to optimize efficiency and flow
Seiso (Shine, Sweep) - clean the area in order to more easily identify problems
Seiketsu (Standardize) Incorporate 5S result into standard operating procedures
Shitsuke (Sustain) - develop behaviors that keep the workplace organized over the long term
