What is Baldrige Framework - The 7 Areas
At the time of the application for the National Baldridge Award, organizations were undertaking a competitive process for the application of the Baldridge system. The system Outlines the “Baldrige Criteria For Performance Excellence", which states that companies must demonstrate their achievements and progress to the independent review board in seven areas:
Leadership studies how senior managers guide and sustain organizations, and how organizations address governance, ethical, legal, and community responsibilities.
Strategic planning examines how an organization sets strategic direction and identifies and deploys key action plans.
A customer-centric review of how the organization identifies customer and market needs and expectations; Build relationships with customers; Acquire, satisfy and retain customers.
Measurement, analytics, and knowledge management examine the management, use, analysis, and improvement of data and information to support key organizational processes and how an organization evaluates its performance.
Human resources focuses on how an organization engages, manages and develops all those who are actively involved in accomplishing the work of the organization so as to achieve their full potential, and how human resources are aligned with organizational goals.
Process management examines the design, management, and improvement of key production/delivery and support processes.
The results examine the organization's performance and improvement in its key business areas: customer satisfaction, financial and market performance, workforce, product/service, operational efficiency, and leadership. The category also looks at how the organization is performing relative to its competitors.
