Whisky is usually aged for one to four years or more. Whisky has a long history, but the basic brewing process has been the same for centuries.

  • Grains preparation - dry grains such as barley, wheat, rye or corn are added to the ground. Remove shell and debris.

  • Mashing - adding water to dissolve sugar and produce wort.

  • Fermentation - The addition of yeast to ferment the conversion of sugar to alcohol.

  • Distillation - The alcohol evaporates and is collected. Repeat to increase purity and evidence.

  • Aging - The distilled spirit is stored in oak barrels for several years. Some casks are new, like bourbon, and some are reused, like Scotch.

  • Bottling - After the whiskey is matured, bottle by bottle, prepare the best part of its journey for consumption!
