So you decide to change yourself and start doing something meaningful.
You just decide to do something well, you want to change yourself and make yourself stronger.
But after a few days of persistence: "Your enthusiasm fades, the old problems come back, and everything is back to its original state."
You are beginning to feel dissatisfied, even disappointed, with yourself again.
Change is never easy, and resistance to change is deeply embedded in our genes. It is already a good sense to see that you are “all mouth and no trousers". I'm not happy with myself right now, but I don't know what I want, so I don't know what to do.
Isn't that what most people experience?
Beckhard Change Formula
The Beckhard change formula describes the conditions required for organizational change, and it also applies to individual changes.
Dissatisfaction with the status quo (D), vision (V), and the first step (FS) are zero, and the change will not really happen.
Many people are dissatisfied with themselves (D), but few have a clear vision (V)-who do I want to be? What is your ideal life state? So, without the sense of vision, there would be no first action (FS) and become just "all mouth and no trousers". Or to put it another way, if the driving force must be greater than the restraining force to make a change, than the change take place:
As shown in this template, the formula for change proposes that the force of the dissatisfaction with the status quo combined with the forces of a compelling vision, first steps, and believability, all have to be greater than the resistance to change.
