What is haunted attraction

Haunted attraction is a business that has been around for over 20 years. The first haunted attractions were created in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but it wasn't until the mid-1990s when they became popular. Today, there are more than 3,000 haunted houses across the United States alone. They range from small to large companies that run multiple attractions at once or even have their own theme park. Haunted attractions can be found all over America and around the world as well!

Effects in haunted attraction

In the haunted house industry, effects usually describe the various effects that are incorporated into a haunted house attraction. Effects can be anything from animatronics, sound effects, special lighting and smoke machines, or even special props such as chainsaws or fire extinguishers. The purpose of an effect is usually to scare visitors, but it can also have other purposes, such as providing clues or serving as a means for actors to interact with visitors.

Location of haunted attraction

Haunted attractions may situated in a shopping mall, amusement park or even a private residence. The location of these places is very important because it affects the type of people who will visit them and how they will behave when they get there. For example, if you have an attraction that takes place at night then the people who go to it will probably be more likely to drink alcohol than those who go to one that takes place during the day.

Example: Haunted house, mansion or castle

Haunted houses or mansions during Halloween each year can be located in hospitals, grocery stores, shopping malls, warehouses, semi-trailers, factories, boats or ships, dilapidated homes and other places. Haunted house or mansion events can range from a few minutes to many hours, with some allowing visitors to go at their own pace and others requiring a guided group tour.

Some of the largest seasonal attractions feature multiple haunted houses in the same location. For example, in 2015, Monroe, Pure Terror Screampark in Monroe, New York, was awarded the Guinness World Record for the world's longest walk through a horror attraction.

In terms of appearance, the prototypical haunted house in the United States may date back to a 1925 painting by Edward Hopper entitled "The House by the Railroad."
