Mother Teresa
(26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997)

Mother Teresa was also known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, who was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, which includes more 5,000 nuns and having activities in more than 100 countries.

She received various honors for her charity works, including Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize in 1962 and Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. People always remember her work, while and she was canonized on 4 September 2016.

She was awarded by different countries for her works. In 1982, she was awarded the Order of Australia in recognition of her "efforts within the larger context of shared Australian and humanitarian convictions. The United Kingdom and the United States competed for the award, and Mother Teresa was awarded the British Order of Merit in 1983 and became an honorary citizen of the United States on Sept. 16, 1996.

Missionaries of Charity

It is founded in 1950, the Catholic religious orders uphold the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. Their goal is to "wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor".

With the help of volunteers, their serves include refugees, former prostitutes, the mentally ill, sick children, abandoned children, lepers, AIDS patients, the elderly, and nursing homes. Schools and other social facilities have also been stablished to serve all those in need.

To be a missionary, they need to be observed for 5 years, then "Tertianship" in Roman with the a metal cross and a sari with three blue stripes representing their vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience received in last year. After all the process, they becoming missionary of charity.

How to influence others

Influencing others is not an easy task for us, here are some tips for you to be the rock that creates the ripples.

1- Listening to others

Listening is the first step in everything. If we want to connect with others, we need to listen to them and understand the similarities and differences between you. This helps to build a connection with others. With a deeper understanding, we will gradually influence each other.

2- Trust in you

If someone is influenced by you, it means they trust you. You may have a close relationship with each other, or you may have enough status and influence. The only way to attract others to follow you is to be a trustworthy enough person.

3- Always maintain integrity

As mentioned above, someone trusts you for them to be influenced by you. In this case, if you fail to maintain your integrity, you will lose their trust and others will not believe you. No one wants to listen to a liar. Moreover, you also need to be honest to yourself, only we can be truth to ourselves, we can be honest to others.
