Description
Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, usually referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer who is regarded as one of the greatest authors of all time. He received nominations for the Nobel Prize in Literature every year from 1902 to 1906 and for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1901, 1902, and 1909; the fact that he never won is a major controversy.
Born to an aristocratic Russian family in 1828, Tolstoy's notable works include the novels War and Peace (1869) and Anna Karenina (1878), often cited as pinnacles of realist fiction. He first achieved literary acclaim in his twenties with his semi-autobiographical trilogy, Childhood, Boyhood, and Youth (1852–1856), and Sevastopol Sketches (1855), based on his experiences in the Crimean War. His fiction includes dozens of short stories and several novellas such as The Death of Ivan Ilyich (1886), Family Happiness (1859), "After the Ball" (1911), and Hadji Murad (1912). He also wrote plays and numerous philosophical essays.
"If you want to be happy, be."
Life is Beautiful. Happiness is just that. Individuals and nations are working towards this. Society cannot be built on frustration and despair. There are many things in life that instill hope and confidence, even though life is always interrupted by pain and ecstasy. The pursuit of happiness means a lot at a time when negativity fills our lives.
So, what makes you happy? What makes you unhappy? Happiness may be difficult to define, but it is easy to experience. Aristotle, undoubtedly one of the greatest philosophers known to man, rightly observed, "Happiness depends on ourselves."
A lot of times, success and wealth equate to happiness. But of course not, smart and successful people are not always happier than their less intelligent or successful counterparts. Wealth does not contribute to happiness to a certain extent.
Life laughs at you when you are unhappy, smiles at you when you are happy, and salutes you when you make others happy.
How to be Happy?
Tips to Find Happiness Within You
1. Seeing happiness is your primary responsibility
A person's first and most basic responsibility is to be a happy person. Happiness is not the ultimate aspect of life. This is a fundamental aspect of life. What else can you do with your life if you are not happy? Only when you are happy can other great possibilities open up.
2. Realize that happiness is your nature
No matter what you pursue in life, whether it's business, power, education, or service, you do it because you have a feeling deep inside that it will bring you happiness.
3. Perspective
Did you see the sun rising very well this morning? Flowers bloom, no stars fall, and galaxies work well. Everything is in order. The whole universe is going very well today, but it's just a worm of thought creeping in your head that makes you believe it's a bad day.
4. See what the mind is
What you call "my thoughts" is not actually yours. You have no ideas of your own. Please look carefully. What you call "my mind" is just society's trash can. Anyone who walks past you will stuff stuff into your mind.
5. From Psychological to Existential
When we talk about spiritual processes, we are talking about the transition from psychic to existential. Life is about the creation here, fully understand it and experience it the way it is; don't twist it the way you want. If you want to get into the reality of being, simply put, you just need to see what you don't think is important, what you don't think is important.
6. Stop Pursuing, Start Expressing
Don’t be in pursuit of happiness. Know how to express your happiness in the world. If you look back at your life and see, the most beautiful moments in life are moments when you are expressing your joy, not when you are seeking it.
7. Smile!
When you get up in the morning, the first thing you should do is smile. At whom? No one. Because just the fact that you woke up is not a small thing. So many millions of people who slept last night did not wake up today, but you and I woke up. Isn’t it great that you woke up? So smile because you woke up.
8. Remind Yourself To Smile!
For many people, it just takes an hour to forget all this. So give yourself a dose once an hour – a reminder of the value of life. If you are very insensitive, remind yourself every half an hour. It takes only ten seconds to remind yourself. You could do it in just two seconds too – “I’m alive, you’re alive. What more?”
9. Transform What’s Within
At present, the quality of your life is not determined by the clothes that you wear, the educational qualifications that you carry, the family background that you come from, or the bank balances that you hold. Rather, the quality of your life depends upon how peaceful and joyous you are within yourself.
10. Stop The Comparison With Others
Most people are miserable not because of what they don’t have. It is simply because they are comparing themselves with someone else.
