Academic writing is a formal, standard, traditional form of writing used primarily to convey knowledge, data, and information. It usually has a clear writing goal, a fixed framework, a rigorous presentation of content, authoritative reference sources, and a neutral tone. It must be well-founded. Academic writing is generally used for research papers, academic journals, press releases, etc.
Creative Writing vs Academic Writing
Academic writing is relatively easy to learn, focusing on writing techniques and boiling down a writing "formula"; creative writing, on the other hand, has no set formula. It is about generating ideas day in and day out through creativity and reflection. However, both types of writing have their own characteristics that are equally important.
Creative writing, by contrast, is more artistic and creative, more personal and emotional. It allows us to enjoy the images, concepts and meanings of words outside of a certain framework. You can use your imagination, or you can express your emotions.
