Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. - Les Brown

Leslie Calvin "Les" Brown (born February 17, 1945) is an American politician and motivational speaker. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1977 to 1981.

According to many of Brown's speeches, when he first decided to get into public radio he was repeatedly unsuccessful. It was only after the on-air failures of the previous afternoon DJ that he was hired full-time. Upon his termination from the radio station, he ran for election in the Ohio House of Representatives and won. After leaving the Ohio State Legislature, he shifted his career to television and became a host on PBS.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars."

If you’re aiming for something, even if you don’t achieve it, you’ll still be somewhere better than where you started, or you can achieve other great things. Encourage everyone to set their aspirations higher. Even if it cannot be achieved in the end, it will not be too far from the goal.

Make your dream come true. We often hear that many of them are impossible. This may be true. We know that by trying there is a great chance of failure. Many believe that these failures will destroy us. But in the end, I'm happier to have tried than to have tried nothing at all.

Say to yourself that no matter what we do, there must be something beyond us. Not this dream or failure, not even success, but just that pride of trying, that happiness in front of our own courage.

All goals have not been achieved, so what? We are on our way and feel good. For those who don't work hard to achieve their dreams, are they lost in the end, lost in the imagination, in a world of fantasy and fleeting happiness?

How to Realize Your Dreams Even If You Don’t Know How to Get There

Start reading personal development books, success principles books, self-help books, and biographies.

Start associating with people who are making things happen — successful people. Find someone who’s already done what you want to do and ask them to be your mentor.

Whatever you do, don’t focus on what you don’t want to happen. Focus on how great it will be when you finally realize your dream. Whatever you focus on will get bigger in your life. Focus on what you want.

Finally, get mad, get passionate and get busy taking massive action. Before long, you’ll become known for your dream, you’ll attract helpers, and eventually, you’ll realize that dream. The process of pursuing your dream will help you grow into the type of person who can reach that dream and will make you hungry for your next dream. It’s all about the person you become.
