The International Association of Architects (UIA) announced the winners of the UIA gold and other awards. The UIA Gold Award was awarded to Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes Da Rocha, chairman of UIA 2021 Rio Honorary Committee, 27th UIA World Congress of architects.
Paulo Mendes Da Rocha, 92, has won many important awards, such as the Pritzker award, which is considered one of the world's top Architecture Awards in 2006, and the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at Venice Biennale in 2016. Mendes Da Rocha is the first Brazilian to win the award.
