Halloween is a festival celebrated on October 31 every year. This tradition originated in the late summer festival of the ancient Celts, when people would light bonfires and put on special clothes to drive away ghosts. It is also said to be the time when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest, allowing humans to communicate with those beyond the grave.

Today's Halloween is a cultural mashup. It has evolved into a day of activities like trick or treat, carving jack-o-lanterns, Festival parties, dressing up and eating candy and it is also the second largest commercial holiday in the United States.
