In this BPD example, we used only one pool and different lanes for the people involved in this process, which automatically means that we blank out the communication between those people: We just assume that they are communicating with each other somehow. If we had a process engine driving this process, that engine would assign user tasks and therefore be responsible for the communication between those people.

What is Business Process Diagram?

Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) is a methodology for business process modelling. It supports the specification of business processes in a graphical notation (Business Process Diagram) based on the concept of activity diagrams from the Unified Modelling Language (UML). BPMN provides businesses with the capability of understanding their internal business procedures in a graphical notation and will give organizations the ability to communicate these procedures in a standard manner.
