Ingredients
- 2 eggs 
- 225 ml sugar 
- 825 ml all-purpose flour 
- 5 ml salt 
- 2 ml nutmeg 
- 30 ml melted butter 
- 225 ml milk 
- hot oil for frying, 2 or 3 inches deep 
- confectioners sugar; 
- cinnamon sugar; 
- thin glaze to coat 
Method
- Beat eggs. 
- Gradually beat in sugar, keep on beating until mixture is thick and ribbony. 
- Sift the dry ingredients together. 
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, and stir it until moist. 
- Chill the dough until it is firm enough to handle. 
- Turn out 1/2 of dough onto a lightly floured board. 
- Wait for 15 minutes. 
- Roll the dough in 3/4 inch thick. Then cut it. 
- Wait for 15 minutes to form a light crust. 
- Fry 1.5 to 2 minutes on each side in hot oil.
